Gretchen Guard lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico during most of the year, and in Truro, Cape Cod in the summer. She majored in studio art at Stanford University where she studied with Nathan Oliveira and Frank Lobdell. At the Santa Fe Art Institute she studied with Wolf Kahn, Wayne Thiebaud, and again with Nathan Oliveira. In Santa Fe her work has been represented by the Martha Keats Gallery and the Wiford & Vogt Gallery.

At this site you will see postage stamp size reproductions of many of Ms. Guard's paintings. Most of these paintings have been sold and are not available but are shown to indicate the type of work she does. All are oil on linen ranging from 10 x 12 inches to 50 x 60 inches.
